    Interface is to communicate with other devices as in computers running programming software or collecting data. An example may be an operator entering a command into a PLC located in a remote location. The devices will communicate through a network interface.

    Examples of inputs and outputs may include Networks, Operator Terminals, and Distributed I/O devices or controllers that are located in different locations than the PLC.
