Some Examples of Remove I/O Networks

Explain the communication methods required for using remote I/O?

Do you know what a remote I/O network is?

It is a type of communications network that communicates with input/output devices that are located physically far away from the CPU of the PLC.

These were created by PLC manufacturers so that the devices could be controlled from remote locations, allowing more flexibility of control for the user.

Some examples of remove I/O networks are:

    – Data Highway

    – Ethernet

    – Profinet

    – Profibus

    – Modbus
